Seattle Seahawks running back Jordan Howard is confident that his return to the team’s lineup this week is not a fluke.
After missing a month with a neck injury, Howard returned to the field Sunday against the Arizona Cardinals and finished with a career-high 121 yards rushing.
Howard’s goal is to get back on the field for the Seahawks’ next game against the Chicago Bears on Sept. 23.
«I think you just gotta give it all you’ve got,» Howard said.
«It’s something that happens, and you just have to go out and play and make the plays.
I think we’ll all go out here and show what we can do.
I’m just gonna go out, make plays, and play hard.»
Howard said he’s confident that he will be able to get his game back to where it was before the injury.
The Seahawks signed Howard to a five-year, $85 million contract in January after he was released by the Minnesota Vikings.
He had one year left on his contract.
Howard had missed three games because of the injury and was released on Nov. 28, 2014.
He has played in only four games since then.
After playing in only five games for the Vikings in 2014, Howard decided to return to Seattle and sign with the Seahawks last season.
Howard said he wanted to be a part of the team again and he believes he can be a great contributor for the team.
«It’s just a matter of time, and I’m really excited about the opportunity that’s here,» Howard told reporters Monday.
«I’m going to make sure I’m out there every week, every play, every game.
I’ll definitely make the most of it.»
