Janson, who was originally selected by the Texans in the sixth round (No. 118) of the 2011 NFL Draft, is the son of former Patriots and Chiefs defensive lineman Kevin Jansen.
Marcus Webb is the second player to be signed by the Patriots as a free agent this offseason.
He signed a five-year contract with $50 million guaranteed in July.
The 26-year-old Jansen was originally drafted by the New Orleans Saints with the No. 21 overall pick in the 2011 draft.
Jarnish, who has also played for the Texans, Atlanta Falcons and Carolina Panthers, is in his second season with the Patriots after playing in six games last season.
